New Head of Uniper’s Engineering Academy Appointed

We’re excited to announce that Nick Booth has been appointed to the position of Head of Uniper’s Engineering Academy.

Having worked in Engineering for 15 years, Nick has most recently undertaken the Turbine Team Leader role at Ratcliffe Power Station. He’s overseen significant engineering works, implementation of industrial emissions direction (IED) strategy and a new turbine overhaul resourcing / contracting approach for delivering turbine outages.

Nick’s experience will certainly bolster the Engineering Academy’s already renowned position in the power and heavy industries as we look to expand our offer and ensure that the all parties continue to receive the quality training and development support they require at home and abroad.

When asked about his new role, Nick said “I’m really proud to be joining the Engineering Academy with its great heritage in providing training and apprenticeships to the energy industry in the UK and abroad. As we can see from recently winning the Engineering & Manufacturing Apprenticeship provider of the year Award 2019 and consistently strong Ofsted performance, it is a team on top of its game.”

Nick added “I’m really looking forward to working with our Customers to provide the skills and competency training that is vital for the ongoing energy transition and for future generations as we head towards a zero carbon future.”

This news coincides with an ambitious new chapter for the Academy, which will see greater engagement with industry to ensure that we’re delivering what’s required now and long into in the future. We expect to identify many great opportunities that will harness modern technologies alongside conventional requirements across all markets near and far and ultimately help you to achieve your business goals.
