Another successful Apprenticeship Open Day

On the 15th January, the Engineering Academy held the first of its annual Apprenticeship Open Day events of 2020.

We welcomed employers from across the UK who were interested in seeing how Uniper’s award winning apprenticeship programme could benefit their businesses Attendees had the opportunity to see the variety of apprenticeship training workshops and classrooms, meet the trainers, as well as engage first hand  with apprentices.

Rob Gillies of Calon Energy Limited, who attended the Open Day, said, the event gave me a  great opportunity to see an organisation, that not only provides a great foundation for future contribution to our industry, but it was also clear from the apprentices we met, an organisation that cares for and supports the individual.  A great combination.”

Nick Booth, Head of the Engineering Academy commented “We’re very proud of what the apprentices achieve through our apprenticeship and being able to showcase this to employers is something that we always look forward to. A key aspect of the open day is allowing prospective and existing apprentice employers from around the country to hear first-hand from our apprentices and trainers on what we deliver, the fantastic career pathways we help create and ultimately how this contributes to the success of their businesses”.

Following  the positive feedback received during the event, we’ve decided to hold three more open days in 2020. If you would  attend future events, please register your interest via the following links:
