New NDT Engineering Technician Apprenticeship

The Engineering Academy will be looking to expand its apprenticeship offer in September 2018 by introducing the Non-Destructive Testing Engineering Technician (NDTET) Apprenticeship.

This level 3 Apprenticeship (Level 2 PCN Equivalent) will provide candidates with the skills required to successfully undertake NDT inspections to understand the integrity of materials, plant, components and welds without rendering them unfit for continued service.

Candidates may learn how to carry out a range of techniques from Ultrasonic, Radiographic, Eddy Current and Penetrant testing plus Magnetic Particle Inspection. They will complete a range of mechanical training to help them understand the real-life function and operation of the materials that they are testing.

Being an apprenticeship standard, the programme will be eligible for funding from your apprentice levy payment pot up to the value of £27,000 per apprentice.
